Hill’s East Wrestling 2006-2007
Coach Magnani recently stated, "winning a League title is never
easy," the will to win and skill level have to be in place A healthy
squad also looms large throughout the dual meet season. One thing does
not change from season to season; commitment, determination, and hard
work. The athletes must also balance the rigors of their academics. The
2006-07 wrestling team carries 49 wrestlers.
The team is led by 2 All-County wrestlers and 4 All-League wrestlers.
Mike Hromada and Francois Guerrier are returning All-County. Dan
Flynn. Matt Genchi, Kervin Charles, and Jeff Beljacques are returning
All-League
This is a balanced team from I03lbs. to 215lbs.
The experience of the athletes being on an All-County team in 2005-06
is huge. Returning wrestlers have seen first hand what hard work
and dedication can do.
Other returning starters include: Brian Lau(103), Clayton Slivka(125).
Vinny Cortazar(119), Josh Costello(135), Nelson Lopez(140), Will
LaGrange(140), and Jarvis Jenkins(215).
2006-07 Sprig Gardner finalist were: Dan Flynn, Mike Hromada,
Claylon Slivka Francois Guerrier(160), Sal Termini(215), and
Jeff Beljacques(275).
John Brower, Ronald Desnoyers, Frank Gowrie, and Sal Termini
will fight for a spot at their respective weight classes.
Juliann Lykos. Christina Dubato, and Carolyn Pennino wil help
as managers.
The T-Bird’s new coach will be Coach Marino. His previous tenure
was at John Glenn High School. Coach Marino brings a wealth of knowledge
and expertise to Hill’s East. Coach Magnani has worked with coach
Marino in the past and is very excited to have him back as part of the
staff.
